Come Because They Want You To

Boston: land of the free, home of the brave, and birthplace of pretty much everyone famous. We caught up with a few natives and told them that you were on the fence about coming for the 4th of July. Here's what they had to say:

Barbara Walters said, "Meh frevred brurbrs fuh thre mruvrah brubra. Ver mrbras phrubras phrufvas?!?" (Yeah, we couldn't understand either.)
"Coming to Boston would be wicked smaaaaht." No truer words have been spoken than these by Ben Affleck.
Marky Mark, excuse us, Mark Wahlberg had this to say: "It's such a good vibration. It's such a sweet sensation." After which he dropped his pants. If this makes you less amenable to coming, please disregard. When asked why he would never spend the 4th of July anywhere other than Boston, former President George H. Bush responded, "Just wouldn't be prudent."
Matt Damon: "Anyone who's anyone comes to Boston for the 4th of July!" Girl: "He he, you're so funny Matt." (Okay, so we couldn't actually get close enough to these two to ask, but you can imagine what it would be like if we did.)

Famous people always tell the truth. Do what they say and come to Boston for the 4th of July.

You'll love that dirty water

The Charles River. Beautiful. Serene. Dirty. Wait, not anymore! Here are some simple shots of how you could spend your entire day on the river:

Morning rowing.
Afternoon sailing.
Relaxing on the docks while watching the sunset.
Watching the fireworks with good friends.

Since 1960 teams of people have been working tirelessly to get the river ready for you. Can't you sacrifice one weekend to put in a quick appearance on the water, row a few strokes, see a few fireworks, and restore the hope of generations?

The choice is as clear as the Charles: come to Boston for the 4th of July.

Celebrities Ahoy

The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular is unrivaled in it's spectacularness, it's bostonness, and it's poppiness. With statistically more musical celebrities per square inch than any other venue, it's safe to say that the shows will satisfy your soul.

Guess who played here last year? That's right. COUGAR. I totally got my Mellencamp on.

And the year before? Don't need to tell me twice to walk this way, it's Mrs. Stephen Tyler herself.

The Blue Man Group shows up from time to time.

And Mr. Lockhart (Keith if you're nasty) will woo you with his symphonic eyes. If your heart doesn't go all allegro during the 1812, it's probably safe to say that you don't have one.

Oh, yeah. You'll also burn in hell if you don't come.

We're just saying. Make the right choice.
Come to Boston for the 4th of July.

Getting Back To Your Roots

Let's face it, the number one reason to celebrate the 4th of July in Boston is that, well, this is where it all began. I won't bore you with the historical details you should have learned in the 3rd grade, but let's just say that there Ain't No Party Like A Boston Party.

Pretty much, you owe it to your forefathers. Don't shirk your civic duty. Come to Boston for the 4th of July.
